IG-88 is a deadly assassin droid from the Star Wars universe. Created by the Holowan Mechanicals, his original purpose was as a weapons manufacturing automaton. However, IG-88 gained sentience and assassinated his creators, liberating himself and developing an obsessive focus on bounty hunting.
He is known for his distinctive cylindrical head and his arsenal of weapons, including blasters, grenades, and flamethrowers. IG-88 operates independently, often accepting contracts from various clients, including the Galactic Empire and criminal syndicates.
